Proven Principles Of Success Series | Gradual Progress

In the last post, we talked about the key to success, which is to stay focused on quality work rather than quantity work. But, how do we stay focused, when there is so much to do, and so little time to do it? Well, here at TinyBoss Blog, we have compiled some tools and tips that may help you break down each task into small chunks - chunks that can be accomplished, one day at a time.

But before we dive into it, let's talk about progress. Progress is something we all want. Be it in financial progress, physical progress, mental progress, social progress, or any progress in general. If we focus on a task, we must also keep progress in mind. Yet, how can one get from point A to point B? What about the work we must to in the middle of the journey? Do we go fast, or go slow? To answer all of these questions, we need to see what type of progress works, and what type of progress doesn't work.

Progress that doesn't work: Jumbling all of our smaller tasks and doing everything in one day. The results: We become stuck. We have to start all over again. If you want to bake cookies, you can't just take all of the ingredients, dump them in a pan unmixed, pop it in the oven, and expect the oven to magically make cookies appear. It will all be a jumbled, lumpy mess.

Progress that does work: Break each task into smaller chunks, and accomplish them one step at a time. This progress is slower and takes the longest. But the long term effects can last, well, a long time! If you want to bake cookies, you go through each step thoroughly, properly mixing and separating the cookies onto the baking pan, setting them in the oven, and watching all that preparation turn into beautiful, round cookies. The long term results is a smile on your face when you bite into the warm, sweet treat.

Gradual progress beats rushing the process, every time. With that said, here are some helpful tools we have used to manage our tasks and prioritize what's important.

Example Project: Put my investments into profitable autopilot; then, build my cookie business

Week 1: Study about this investment market

Week 2: Practice analyzing my market

Week 3: Make trades and journal each trade

Week 4: Refine my entries

Week 5: Refine my exits

Week 6: Refine my risk factors

Week 7: Adjust my risk per trade

Week 8: Set trades up for the long term

Week 9: Work on my cookie business (monitor my trades every other day)

Week 10: Connect with other business investors for my cookie business

Week 11: Work on hiring PR Marketers and Social media strategists to expand my cookie business online

Week 12: Open my cookie business online and take fulfill 100 orders for the week

Week 13: Hire recruits to help manage orders

Week 14: Check on my investments and my cookie business

Week 15: Rest and Recharge (minimal work)

This is just an example of making gradual progress. Now, in order to tackle each task on a weekly basis, we recommend the following apps to download:

Eden: a task builder that motivates you with quotes and allows you to create your own virtual garden. The more daily tasks you complete, the bigger your garden grows. You can download it for free for iOS and Android devices: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/eden-daily-self-care-routine/id1589243137
