Video games, in today's youth culture, can be seen as highly influential. For most people who may not understand gaming, they see it as a way to harbor violence and other negative actions and emotions. But for those who take the time to really understand it, they will see things different. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The same is true when it comes to video games.
For starters, let's take on of our blog members, who is an avid gamer. She loves playing games on the weekends because she can sharpen her mind and her reflexes. Not only that, but she plays with a community of video gamers, strengthening her coordination, communication, and team building skills. One game she plays includes challenging modes that require quick reflexes, incredible strength, and endurance. Though she makes mistakes, she quickly recovers from those mistakes and presses on to victory.
Because of these skills that she is building, she can take those same principles and apply them to her businesses. She needs the communication skills and coordination skills to work with clients and business partners from different backgrounds and associations. Her team building skills helps her to form relationships that benefit her businesses. With strength of mind, she can weather any setback in her businesses. Resilience is also key in her success journey, which she has learned to harness in her time gaming. Her reflexes are quick, in case she runs into a problem that requires quick thinking on the job.
She harbors these skills through gaming, plus other life skills such as budgeting, creating a large stream of income, and wealth management. It's crazy how gaming - the one thing most older generations see as a hindrance - can have a positive effect, depending on the person playing it. Not only that, but those who are gamers have the real competitive edge. In a world filled with AI and technology, gamers can navigate this ever-changing technological landscape much better than those who choose to avert their gaze at technology.
Can gamers become successful? Absolutely! The skills they need to be a part of the 1% can be transferred to their real life, if they choose to see their game as something that can help them succeed, the right way. Of course, there are those who choose to see the negative side of gaming. And everyone is entitled to their own view and opinion. Even those who play mobile games can consider themselves as successful, for it also requires the same amount of skills, albeit a bit different.
