Proven Principles Of Success Series | Work Less, Make More

What is it about this idea of people working less than 40 hours a week and getting paid more? Is it because they majored in IT? Are they just smarter than everyone else?

Before we can fully understand this, we need to understand how wealthy people think. What if you never had to change your job or career, yet you made more than what you make now? This is not a sales pitch, of course. Rather, it's a mind exercise, getting us to shift our paradigms from a 9-5 mentality to a 1% mentality.

The 9-5 mentality says to work long hours and make more money. It says that we need to meet the quotas and deadlines promptly, no matter how much sleep we need to sacrifice. It also says that we must always overwork and over perform to the point of absolute exhaustion. Only then, we can climb the famed corporate ladder. But has this method actually made anyone a million dollars?

In the age of information, we read up articles and short biographies of the wealthiest people in the world. They all share this "secret" to their success. But is it really a secret? Or is it a shift? The Richest Man In Babylon made wealth plain and simple: Work on a task and do it to the best of your ability. You want your work to be all about quality. And if you enjoy what you do, it shows. Not only that, but you get paid more because of these factors:

  1. You enjoy your job.

  2. You don't mind staying up late at night when you are passionate about a project.

  3. You work weekends not out of obligations; but out of pure opportunity

  4. You love what you do; and you can share that love and passion with your clients and business partners

That seems like a dream. But it's more of a reality than you think. Elon Musk is one passionate robotics-lover. He started off in Tesla. Yet once Tesla became a big name in the EV industry, he directed his attention to space and then creating robots that will change our society forever (see the article and video about OPTIMUS: https://voicebot.ai/2023/05/22/watch-teslas-humanoid-robots-walk-into-the-future/)

Now, he is considered one of the richest tech gurus in the world. How did all of this come about? It started with him and his belief in the Tesla vehicles. Belief is what fuels dreams! When you believe your career will skyrocket, then you walk on that belief and work at it with everything you've got. It's okay to rest every now and then. Just don't stop working on your goal. Have that 1% mindset: I am good at one thing, which the whole world will know and appreciate.

The idea of working less all centers around mindset. I can work when I want on what I want, and I don't feel exhausted. I am good at what I do. I can always improve by challenging myself. And I have a dream that will be realized, the more I work on my career. That's the idea of working less and making more: It's about quality work, not quantity work.

Question: What career or passion do you have that you can work on now? Do you believe that you can watch it become a reality? Let us know in the comments below.
