Proven Principles Of Success Series | Your Health Is Your Wealth

Did you know that this month is Mental Awareness Month? It has been recognized as an official event since 1949. As part of the Proven Principles of Success Series, today's topic centers around this one concept: Your Health is Your Wealth.

It has been said often that our Health is the key to our wealth. But, what does that mean? In observance of Mental Health Awareness month, we emphasize that one's health begins in the mind. What you think, how you think, and why you think the way you think - all of it has to do with your focus. Focus is key in anything you say or do.

With this in mind, let's look at two immutable truths that have been proven to be the central point in obtaining wealth and abundance.

Truth #1

"Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God - this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - His good, pleasing and perfect will." Romans 12: 1-2

Truth #2

"Willpower is but the unflinching purpose to carry a task you set for yourself to fulfillment. If I set for myself a task, be it ever so trifling, I shall see it through." - Arkad, The Richest Man In Babylon

Both truths talk about the idea of focusing on one task. Focus on the quality of your work, not how much work you can do in one day. That is the key to true success. It sounds simple. It doesn't make sense. Well, in a world filled with the idea of multitasking, yeah, it doesn't make sense. But, when has multitasking ever made anyone successful? Which is better: To do one task and do it well, or to do 1,000 tasks and do them halfway? Unfortunately, the majority of companies ask their employees to go above and beyond their "one task", all for minimum wage.

If you think about it, Amazon didn't start selling all these items you see on their website overnight. Jeff Bezos started out of his garage, selling books. That was the original Amazon. Over the decades, he expanded his multi-billion dollar company and its inventory. From the garage to the global internet space, Amazon was Jeff Bezos's focus. That's why he can be considered a potential Trillionaire at this point.

Elon Musk only focused on Tesla and the word-of-mouth ads that caused his electric vehicles to sell millions and millions. Now, he works in the Twitter space (for now), in the robotics and AI space, and in literal outer space. It didn't happen overnight. It happened in decades and decades of focus and perseverance.

When you focus on one task or project, you focus on perfecting it. Unfortunately, we say "yes" to too many opportunities. But fortunately, we can change our "yes" to "no", creating boundaries and strict barriers for ourselves. In effect, we are taking initiative by creating a better environment for our minds. We can focus on one task - or one job - and do it so well, that it brings the satisfaction and joy we have always wanted to experience. And when you enjoy what you do, it shows! The quality of your work brings people of all races and backgrounds to your doorstep.

For this month - and for every month after - focus on creating a space for yourself, mentally. Create a mindset that focuses on one task. Focus on believing for the impossible. Focus on improving your health, so you can have the appropriate energy to focus on your task. And above all, focus on making a space of rest for yourself each day, so you can recharge and get back to the task at hand. And always remember: Quality beats quantity, every time!
