The Health Cafe | Spice Up Your Mornings!

Yes, talking about spices in the blistering summer months is madness. Or is it? It turns out that spicing things up in life can be an added health benefit. And, it may help your body to burn off those stubborn fat cells.

Today, why not try to spice up your morning routine with a cup of hot cayenne and cinnamon tea? Now, we know what you're thinking: how can something sweet and spicy be considered a morning routine? Well, it turns out there are natural health benefits in drinking this concoction:

  1. Improves Insulin Resistance

  2. Increases the metabolism

  3. Can help the body burn stubborn fat cells

  4. Is a great Detox drink

There are more benefits. And as far as how spicy to make it, just adding a small teaspoon of cayenne and cinnamon is more than enough to drink this potent detox tea. If you cannot handle spicy things, however, that's okay! There's always cinnamon and ginger tea that is not as spicy.

To make this, just boil some hot water. Add a small teaspoon (1/8 tsp) of Cayenne powder and 1/2 tsp of cinnamon (you can add a bit more cinnamon if necessary). Pour the boiling water into a cup and stir in the cayenne and cinnamon. Drink it while it is hot.

The spices will increase blood flow, which is beneficial in the mornings to wake you up. Even Ms. Johnson can attest to her experience with this drink:

"I love spicy foods in the morning. To drink this spicy concoction actually gave me more energy. Once I finished drinking this - about an hour or so later - I exercised and felt as though I burned more calories and sweated twice as much."

Of course, we advise you to consult with your doctor or physician before trying this natural sweat booster. If you're body is averse to spicy foods, we do not recommend trying this drink, as the potency of the cayenne - especially organic cayenne - can be strong.

With that said, we would like to know what healthy drinks you have in the morning to give you an extra energy boost. Let us know in the comments below. Your morning drink may be featured in the next issue of The Health Cafe!
